When I look at contemporary application of mathematics, there’s no area where something has had a larger affect on peoples lives than technology. Through the improvement of technology devices such as phones, computers, televisions and even vehicles are vital areas of our lives.
The original computer was designed because the US population has grown so large that in 1880 the government needed a device that could tabulate the U.S. Census results quickly (Zimmerman, 2017). This led to entire rooms taken up by punch based computer.
